Even in summer, many of us want to wear liquid make-up to achieve a more even complexion. If you want more coverage from your foundation, you don’t necessarily have to apply several layers, use concealer or even buy a new product. According to beauty gurus on social media, there’s a trick that admittedly sounds a bit crazy: heat foundation in a pan before applying.
Pour the desired amount into a clean, heated skillet and “fry” the foundation for a few seconds. Make sure it doesn’t burn. When the foundation blob bubbles, remove the pan from the heat. Allow to cool before applying and blending onto your face as usual.
This absurd trick removes water from the foundation. This makes it thicker and covers better. According to beauty experts, it should also have a longer shelf life. A user adds in the comments that this practice for bridal makeup has long been common practice in Indonesia. There you use a metal palette on which the foundation is mixed and then heat it up with a lighter. It is said that not only does it last longer, but it also prevents the foundation from oxidizing. The only question is how suitable the trick is for everyday use… But it’s worth a try just out of curiosity.
