The summer trend design for the nails is reminiscent of a dip in the cool water
This summer we like to wear flashy colors on our nails. In addition to our favorites yellow and lilac , a new nail design is now conquering all hearts on social networks: water drops!
The trigger for the new nail polish trend was – again – the mega-influencer Kylie Jenner. She recently posted this picture on her Instagram account:
This look is reminiscent of fresh-from-the-sea moments and immediately gives us summer feelings! For her unusual water droplet design (English: water droplets nails) she used a bright orange tone on the fingertips as a basis. Then round dots were attached in different places, which look like real water drops due to the three-dimensional look.
THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE THE NAIL DESIGN AT HOME
Of course, you can leave the whole thing to the professionals and go to a nail salon. However, it’s not that difficult to try for yourself if you keep the following in mind:
YOU NEED:
- One or more base coat(s)
- Optional: Matt top coat
- clear coat
- A tool to draw dots, e.g. a dotting tool, a hair clip or the nail polish brush
THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE:
- Apply one or more varnishes of your choice as a base. You can be very creative here, the main thing is that you let the paint dry completely.
- Optional: Apply a matt top coat to emphasize the drops even more later.
- Now the water drops come into play. Pick up some clear polish with the tool of your choice and spot-pat it onto your nail. Continue until you have the desired number of drops on your nails. Make sure you use enough clear coat to get the 3D effect you want. The dots can be different sizes. Now let everything dry well and you’re done!
