Bella Hadid also swears by this curious beauty trick
Do you know that? After a long day at work, do you take a look in the mirror and realize that there is not much left of the make-up you applied so carefully in the morning? This beauty trick from the internet, which even supermodel Bella Hadid swears by, is supposed to be the solution. All you need is a bowl of ice cold water. Sounds quirky, right? We’ll tell you what it’s all about:
“JAMSU”: ICE-COLD WATER FOR A LONG-LASTING MAKE-UP
“Jamsu” is the name of the beauty trick that has its origins in Korea and means something like “to submerge”. Because that’s what makes this technique so special: After applying foundation, concealer and powder, immerse your face in a bowl of ice-cold water for 15 to 30 seconds . Then gently pat your face dry with a towel. Finished! (Make up your eyebrows, mascara and lips afterwards.) And the result? The result should be a matte finish for an even complexion.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
The “Jamsu” technique is said to open the pores and allow the make-up to blend flawlessly into the skin. The ice-cold water also promotes blood circulation and makes the skin glow. But be careful: If you suffer from dry or sensitive skin, you should not immerse your face under water for more than 15 seconds, as this can dry out your skin further.
It remains to be seen whether the Korean beauty trend will catch on or not. And even if “Jamsu” makes us smile, it’s definitely worth an experiment if you don’t have a fixing spray to hand.
