Do you also swear by some blush on your cheeks to freshen up your skin? We usually go for tones like rosé or peach, but now a new color is making a name for itself on social media: purple. And we don’t mean the light lilac-purple, but the bold, intense version of the cool tone.
That may sound daunting at first, but the new purple trend is actually much more multifaceted than expected. You can use your blush for all occasions, from a light touch of color suitable for everyday use to a night out look.
Purple is particularly suited to skin tones with yellow-gold undertones as this is purple’s complementary color. But purple rouge also gives all other skin tones a nice boost of freshness.
When applying, especially for the everyday look, you should make sure that you don’t cause an uneven end result. Otherwise it could look like a bruise or an injury, warns celebrity makeup artist Zoe James.
So start carefully and with little color and combine it with a simple eyeliner. Of course you can also apply thicker for party looks. How about a gold shimmering lipstick to match the purple on the cheeks?
Purple blush isn’t the most uncomplicated, but with practice and courage, you can create an exciting new beauty look with the on-trend color.
